Cube Acid Nuance Cera Carbon Saddle Long-Term Test: Cube is known for its enormously wide and attractively priced range of bicycles. But the manufacturer from the Fichtel Mountains also offers an extensive range of accessories and components, including saddles. Cube has invested heavily in saddle development in recent years and even offers carbon models.

Cube Acid Nuance Cera – The key data
Cube's entry into the world of carbon saddles is marked by the Nuance Cera (along with two other models). The Nuance Cera is a saddle specifically designed for sporty female cyclists for all-road use. It utilizes various technologies from Cube's subsidiary brand Acid to offer exceptional comfort, even on long days in the saddle. An Ergo-Relief Channel in the center of the saddle, combined with the Deep-Shell technology, is intended to relieve pressure, while the high rear provides pelvic support. The lightweight yet durable carbon fiber frame is responsible for the saddle's low weight of 188 g in size M/L – a phenomenal figure considering the price of €129,95.

Our test impression
Our long-term tester Steffi has racked up plenty of kilometers on the Nuance Cera over the past few weeks, both on her gravel and road bikes. First, however, she had to decide on the right size. Measuring your sit bone width is a good way to estimate which of the two available saddle widths (150/160 mm) is the right fit. If in doubt, Steffi recommends choosing the larger of the two sizes, as the saddle is rather narrow even at a nominal width of 160 mm . Besides the width, the saddle's overall short profile is a noticeable feature – meaning the nose doesn't get in the way, even when standing and pedaling. The low weight of the carbon saddle is also most noticeable in dynamic riding situations.
And what about its suitability for long distances? Absolutely! The Nuance Cera delivers a high level of comfort from its EVA padding, even on long rides, making it ideal for multi-day tours. The cutout in the center of the saddle, in particular, contributes significantly to the overall comfort. For those planning longer tours and wanting to enjoy cycling for several days in a row, the Nuance Cera could be the perfect choice.
Interestingly, Cube was able to integrate a so-called SI Link despite the low weight. This essentially refers to a pair of threaded inserts on the underside of the saddle shell. Accessories such as a saddlebag can be attached to this – very practical for everyday cycling. The SI Link works well with various saddlebag models.
