Giveaway: In September, the brand-new Scott Addict for the 2026 model year was unveiled. With this revamped road bike, Scott is shifting its focus even more clearly towards comfort, versatility, and riding experience – without neglecting the brand's performance DNA. The platform is described by the manufacturer as "Long Ride Ready" and is designed for long days in the saddle and plenty of shared experiences. Alongside high-performance models like the Scott Foil RC and Addict RC, they aim to offer a high-quality option for a wide range of riders. As a real highlight to kick off the upcoming season, we're giving away a Scott Addict 30 in frozen green, size L, in cooperation with Scott!
The new Scott Addict for the 2026 model year comes with a completely redesigned carbon frame, which, according to the manufacturer, offers up to 25% more compliance than the race-oriented Addict RC and 50% more than the previous Addict generation. This is made possible by a slimmer seat tube section below the seat stays, a refined, also slimmer, top tube, and lower, outward-facing seat stays. The goal is noticeable vibration damping without making the bike feel spongy or sacrificing the performance characteristics Scott is known for.
Tire clearance of up to 38 mm significantly expands the range of use: Wider tires, run at lower pressure, increase comfort and control and can even reduce rolling resistance on long distances – the slight aerodynamic disadvantage is consciously accepted. Standard tires: 700×34 C, depending on the model.
The geometry was also specifically designed for long-distance comfort. Compared to its predecessor, the stack height has increased by 5 mm, while the reach has been shortened by 5 mm. This results in a slightly more upright and less stretched-out riding position, which should relieve strain on the neck, shoulders, and back, especially on long rides. An interesting comparison for previous Addict RC riders: those who rode the Addict RC with 35 mm of spacers under the stem will achieve a similar position on the new Addict with 0 mm of spacers. This clearly demonstrates how the platform has been shifted towards an endurance riding position. At the same time, the bottom bracket drop and fork offset have been adjusted to accommodate the larger tires, while the chainstays have been shortened by 2 mm to maintain a degree of agility despite the focus on comfort.
The Addict comes in HMF and HMX versions: HMF balances weight, stiffness, and comfort, while HMX saves additional material and weight thanks to higher-modulus fibers – with steering and bottom bracket stiffness on par with the Addict RC. The HMX frame weighs approximately 780 g, making it 50 g lighter than the Addict RC SL (2020), according to Scott; the HMF layout has also been slimmed down.
- Save-the-day kit: An integrated puncture repair kit in the down tube near the bottom bracket—positioned low for minimal weight impact on the center of gravity. Standard on the Addict Premium and Addict 10.
- frame bagOptional: custom-fit front triangle bag with one-hand zipper (right) and mesh quick-access compartment (left); discreet storage under covers in the top tube.
- Syncros ecosystem: New Addict custom stems, RC stem, or integrated Syncros cockpit available; spacers and covers are cross-platform compatible (Addict / Addict RC). All handlebars are ergonomically flattened instead of the classic round. The Addict RC's D-shaped post includes the option of a seatpost with integrated rear light; an integrated clamp replaces the round clamp.
- Simple settings: a T25 Allen key, discreetly housed in the cockpit or in the handlebar bend, covers, among other things, the stem, handlebars, post, seat clamps and even bottle cages.
Win your Scott Addict 30!
The Scott Addict 30 impresses as a high-quality yet practical entry into the world of carbon long-distance touring bikes. It's based on an Addict frame and fork made of HMF carbon, utilizing the comfort-oriented geometry and damping characteristics of the series, thus combining the frame's technical specifications with the practicality of a well-equipped groupset. For the drivetrain, Scott relies on Shimano's 105 Di2 24-speed electronic 2x12 groupset, offering precise shifting and modern technology. This is complemented by Syncros Capital 1.0 35 Disc wheels, whose 35 mm rim depth strikes a balanced compromise between stiffness, weight, and aerodynamics, and are fitted with Schwalbe One tires designed to excel in rolling efficiency and grip, particularly on long road rides. The package is rounded off by Syncros components made of carbon and aluminum – for example, in the cockpit and seatpost – which means that the Addict 30 adopts the brand integration of the Scott/Syncros ecosystem and presents itself as a cleanly integrated, long-distance-capable all-rounder.
