Cycling: Paul Double has won the queen stage of the Tour of Guangxi. The Briton also takes the lead in the overall standings.
Paul Double wins ahead of Victor Lafay
With his victory on the fifth stage of the Tour of Guangxi, Paul Double (Jayco AlUla) achieved a double triumph. The Briton can not only celebrate the stage win but also the overall lead. He thus takes the red jersey from his namesake Paul Magnier (Soudal – Quick-Step), after Magnier won the first four stages in mass sprints.
Tomorrow the Tour of Guangxi ends
After 165,8 kilometers from Yizhou to Nongla, Double finished nine and eleven seconds ahead of Frenchman Victor Lafay (Decathlon Ag2r La Mondiale) and Dane Mikkel Frölich Honoré (EF Education – EasyPost), respectively. He is now in contention for the overall victory, but still has to get through tomorrow's final stage.
