Affordable model with new Bosch Performance Line PX for the company anniversary: Pegasus Solero EVO 10

29 October 2025 by Caspar Gebel

Pegasus Solero EVO 10: The Cologne-based ZEG brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an attractive special model. And there's (almost) no expense spared in other areas either – as a sporty all-rounder, the 2026 Solero is a good choice, featuring the brand-new Bosch Performance Line PX drive system.

In terms of technology, trekking bikes have always been inspired by mountain bikes. With triple chainrings and powerful rim brakes, the first models in the late 1980s stood out from the touring bikes that were common at the time; later, suspension forks and disc brakes provided comfort and safety for everyday use and while traveling. This trend continued with e-bikes, too – here, the Bosch Performance Line CX drive system was the choice for sporty off-road and on-road use.

But now the e-trekking bike is emancipating itself from the mountain bike with a new motor. With the Performance Line PX, Bosch has introduced a new system that, on the one hand, makes no compromises in motor performance, but, on the other, is more tailored to the comfort needs of everyday riders and touring cyclists. And you can experience this motor, for example, on the new Pegasus Solero EVO 10.

Pegasus Solero EVO 10: Anniversary model with new Bosch Performance Line PX

The private label of the Cologne-based bicycle purchasing cooperative ZEG has launched the new Solero as an anniversary model for its 60th anniversary. Of course, it's not being given away for free, but the price of €2 is reasonable.999 Euro is a real eye-catcher. For this sum, which is quite modest by today's standards, you get pretty much everything you could want from an e-trekking bike. This starts with the battery, which is already quite large at 600 Wh – 200 watt-hours more costs an additional 300 euros. And of course, no expense has been spared on the motor either, the Bosch PX.

The abbreviation stands for a high torque of 90 Nm and up to 750 watts of peak power, which are clearly e-MTB dimensions. However, a different value is more interesting for touring riders: At a cadence of 70 rpm – meaning brisk, but by no means rapid, pedal rotation – the motor can deliver a continuous output of 550 watts. This means that even with moderate personal effort and moderate cadence, you'll receive extremely powerful propulsion, even though the Bosch CX has a significantly higher continuous output.

The Bosch PX is characterized by refined responsiveness and low noise levels.

Powerful, new Bosch motor for touring use

The optimized torque curve of the PX motor ensures a smooth response, whereas the Bosch CX motor feels more sporty and firm. This makes the bike easy to control when starting off, preventing jerky acceleration – something that can be disconcerting for e-bike beginners. Those with experience using other motors might notice something else: the PX unit's remarkably low noise level. Here, the new motor truly surpasses the CX, a feature that is definitely appreciated on quiet rides.

The new Solero has already won a German Design Award.
The LED taillight is elegantly integrated.

Pegasus offers not only a state-of-the-art motor on its anniversary bike, but also a thoroughly well-rounded package. This starts with the new Shimano Cues drivetrain, whose ten gears cover a wide range, and also includes a bright 70-lux headlight, the same type the brand uses on significantly more expensive bikes. The only thing missing is an air suspension fork; however, the steel spring model does the job just fine.

Powered smartphone adapter on the stem

The electronic peripherals of the motor system are interesting. Pegasus has integrated the "Monkey Link 2.0" interface into the handlebar stem, which not only powers the included "Bosch Purion 200" display but can also hold (and, of course, charge) a smartphone via an adapter. This is naturally very practical if you want to use advanced navigation functions and the like.

In terms of value for money, the powerful and modernly motorized Pegasus Solero EVO 10 is among the top performers.

The aluminum frame of the Pegasus Solero EVO 10, available in three versions, is designed for a relaxed riding position and comfortable handling; the top-mounted battery facilitates handling. In addition to the clean lines, there's contemporary integrated cable routing; however, cables, etc., are routed externally on the cockpit. This distinguishes it from the top-of-the-line Pegasus Premio model, and one that's certainly worth considering. Cut corners have to be cut to make the attractive anniversary price possible—and the manufacturer certainly hasn't skimped on functionality and material quality.
