Product news: The new Santa Cruz Vala AL incorporates everything that defines the carbon Vala. Equipped with a four-pivot suspension, MX wheels, and 160/150 mm of travel, it promises safety, while the Bosch Performance Line CX motor provides powerful assistance. While the basic concept remains the same, the aluminum version of the Vala is a new, distinctive bike.
Manufacturing the aluminum frame of the Santa Cruz Vala AL required a different design and approach than the carbon version. Among other things, the flip-chips for travel adjustment on the aluminum Vala were removed to keep setup as simple as possible. According to the manufacturer, Santa Cruz's reliability, including its warranty, remains unchanged – but in a package that is accessible to more riders. The four-pivot suspension was already successfully introduced on the Vala and rated as "bulletproof." The VP-Free approach allows for motor integration, a longer seatpost insertion depth, and—most importantly—the desired suspension characteristics.
The Bosch Performance Line CX motor has long been established as the industry standard. It delivers consistent torque and noticeable assistance, whether uphill, downhill, or anywhere in between. According to Santa Cruz, excellent handling was at the heart of every design decision – therefore, finding the optimal weight was a key factor. The Vala AL therefore comes with a 600 Wh main battery and an optional 250 Wh PowerMore range extender. A wireless remote control, a wireless speed sensor, and a clear display are designed to make everyday riding easier. The Bosch app allows you to customize the riding modes and upload routes, among other things.
The Santa Cruz Vala AL is offered in two equipment variants at a price of 5299,00 (Deore Kit / 24,09 kg) or 6299,00 euros (70 Kit / 24,35 kg).
