All Tour de France team helmets: The helmet from Uno-X-Mobility: Sweet Protection Falconer Aero 2Vi

Sweet Protection Falconer Aero 2Vi: Faster with “Aero Covers”

The Norwegian manufacturer offers the helmet in two versions: the Falconer without (€249) and the Sweet Protection Falconer Aero 2Vi with the "Aero Covers" (€299), which are held in place by magnets and fit very precisely into the helmet. The four covers add a whopping €50; they definitely make the helmet look better and, thanks to their smooth shape, are also aerodynamically optimized. Oddly enough, you can order a set of "Aero Covers" for €20—so it's smarter to choose the regular helmet and the Aero Covers, perhaps in a contrasting color.

The air slit running across the forehead ends in glasses garages on the right and left.
Above the large opening, the shell is shaped like a spoiler.

The Aero Covers are also available separately

The covers close off four of the twelve ventilation openings, including a horizontal slit across the forehead. This makes the helmet feel very airy and comfortable to wear even on hot days. The thin vent on the forehead leads into two larger side openings that serve as a goggle garage. This is, of course, designed to fit the manufacturer's sports glasses; it also works quite well with other models.

The magnetically held covers fit perfectly into the helmet shell.
Mips alone cannot explain the helmet’s high weight.
The adjustment wheel is rather small and flat.

The helmet has quite soft padding; the forehead padding can be removed separately, which is convenient for cleaning. There are no problems with the height adjustment; the rear adjustment dial is a bit on the small side. However, there's plenty of room for a thick braid. The fit is rather narrow, and the helmet doesn't sit too low on the head. Available in three sizes, the helmet is available in twelve color options, plus a team version. The high weight of 350 grams, including the Aero Covers (26 grams), is striking—making the MIPS helmet a clear outlier.
