Simplon GRID :eLight and GRID 365 :eLight: Versatile e-gravel bikes from Austria

June 24, 2025 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the Simplon GRID :eLight and the GRID 365 :eLight, the Austrian manufacturer is launching two e-gravel bikes designed to combine sporty performance, everyday features, and a discreet electric drive. The two models address different areas of use – from off-road to touring to daily commuting.

Simplon GRID :eLight

The design of the Simplon GRID :eLight focuses less on pure engine power than on the integration of a lightweight drive system, modular equipment, and a targeted focus on the specific application. The models feature Simplon's "Advanced Gravel Geometry," which is designed for a balanced blend of efficiency, control, and comfort. A slack steering angle, an extended front end, and a sporty yet comfortable seating position are designed to enable stable and direct handling both on and off-road.

Simplon GRID :eLight

Both models are based on a carbon frame with a Raptour carbon fork and allow the use of tires up to 50 mm wide (45 mm as standard, up to 50 mm without fenders). A 40 mm suspension fork is also available as an option. With a total of twelve mounting points, a wide variety of configurations can be realized – from a minimalist gravel bike to a fully equipped everyday bike.

Standard equipment includes tubeless-ready wheels, powerful disc brakes, and a wide-range 1x drivetrain. Two equipment packages per model can be customized using the Simpln configurator.

Simplon GRID :eLight models with TQ drive

The drive system is based on the TQ HPR60 motor, which offers 60 Nm of torque, 250 W of power, and a weight of 1,85 kg, offering a lightweight, efficient assistance approach. The integrated 290 Wh battery can be optionally supplemented with a 160 Wh range extender. The system is designed for a natural riding feel and integrates discreetly into the frame design. It is operated via a 2-inch color display in the top tube.

The GRID 365 :eLight model is also available as a flat-bar version, specifically designed for the demands of everyday riding and commuting. This version comes factory-equipped with mudguards, lighting, a side stand, and a luggage rack, but remains technically identical to the drop-bar version. Despite the urban spec, the frame retains its sporty stance.
