High-performance pedal for XC and gravel racing: Shimano XTR PD-M9200 premium pedal

June 5, 2025 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: Coinciding with the launch of the new Shimano XTR M9200 Di2 Wireless mountain bike component group, the Japanese company is also unveiling the enhanced XTR PD-M9200 premium pedal. According to Shimano, this high-performance pedal is designed for the highest demands in cross-country mountain biking and gravel racing.

With a clear focus on speed, stability of the shoe-pedal connection, and robustness, the new PD-M9200 pedal is the first choice for racers who value greater efficiency in the varying conditions of MTB and gravel racing. With its low platform height and wide bearing spacing, the XTR PD-M9200 is characterized by high stability and power transfer, according to the manufacturer. The slim axle housing and the open binding design for dirt resistance and reliable binding function should ensure perfect function at all times, even in challenging terrain. The built-in chromoly axle and sealed ball bearings also promise longevity and low maintenance. The premium pedal is available with a standard axle or a 3 mm shorter axle.
