Cycling: Remco Evenepoel won the time trial on the fourth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. The Belgian also took the yellow jersey ahead of German Florian Lipowitz.

Evenepoel takes 49 seconds off Pogacar

He succeeded in the dress rehearsal: Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick-Step) won the Critérium du Dauphiné individual time trial with an impressive performance. The Belgian Olympic champion left his opponents no chance on the 17,4-kilometer course from Charmes-sur-Rhône to Saint-Péray. Second place went to the Dane, 21 seconds behind. jonas vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) ahead of his teammates Matteo Jorgenson (Visma | Lease a Bike) from the USA. Tadej pogacar (UAE – XRG) suffered a severe setback, falling 49 seconds behind. The German was only eight seconds slower. Florian Lipowitz (RB – Bora – hansgrohe), who is only four seconds behind leader Evenepoel in the overall standings.
