Progressive step in the development of gravity racing: Exclusive racing partnership between Specialized and Brembo

June 18, 2025 by Andrew Waldera

Exclusive racing partnership between Specialized and Brembo

MTB Cycling: Specialized and Brembo have joined forces in a unique partnership focused solely on pushing the boundaries of downhill racing. This exclusive collaboration unites two brands with deep roots in competitive racing and a relentless desire to win.

Specialized and Brembo are joining forces to deliver new innovations in downhill racing. As downhill bikes become faster, the courses more challenging, and athletes constantly push the boundaries of what's possible, braking has become an even more critical performance factor. The Specialized Gravity Team therefore needs a system that guarantees maximum performance – and the long-established Italian brake specialist delivers.

Exclusive racing partnership between Specialized and Brembo

Specialized Gravity athletes will test Brembo brake prototypes throughout the 2025 World Cup season. These components are the result of a focused research and development partnership solely dedicated to delivering podium-worthy performance in the most demanding conditions. The racing partnership marks Brembo's first foray into elite downhill mountain biking.

Combined with Specialized's long history of innovation in mountain bike design and rider-focused development, the collaboration represents a progressive step in the evolution of gravity racing. While the partnership focuses exclusively on racing, its spirit reflects a shared belief: When athletes are given the opportunity to push boundaries, innovation follows.
