Product news: The new Roval Control SL Team wheels represent a remarkable development in cross-country racing. Weighing just 1.190 grams, they are said to be among the lightest XC wheels on the market. This lightness is the result of intensive research and development by the Roval team in collaboration with Specialized's World Cup athletes.
With the Roval Control SL Team wheels, the US manufacturer wants to set new standards in cross-country racing. Thanks to their advanced carbon technology, which is designed to offer the perfect balance of stiffness and flexibility, as well as their unparalleled durability, they provide ideal conditions for top performance on the world's most demanding race tracks.
The carbon spokes are a key factor in the low weight of the wheels. These are 29% lighter and at the same time more stable than traditional metal spokes. This innovation came about after a three-year development process that included extensive materials research and rigorous testing.
The Roval Control SL Team wheels are designed to offer a balanced combination of lateral stiffness and vertical compliance. This enables precise steering and maximum traction, which is particularly advantageous on technically demanding routes. This balance was achieved through fifteen different layups and wheel configurations, optimized through testing and feedback from pro racers.
In addition to their low weight and high precision, the Control SL Team wheels are characterized by their robustness. They are 33% more resistant to force than comparable products. The new rim profile with wide rim flange significantly reduces the risk of pinch flats, allowing drivers to ride risk-free at their preferred tire pressure.
The Roval Control SL Team wheels are handmade and available in limited quantities. Each set comes with a variety of extras including titanium brake disc bolts, end caps and tools, a Micro Spline freewheel, DT Swiss SINC ceramic bearings, a Dynaplug Racer Pro repair kit, twenty spare spokes, a high quality wheel bag, S-Works Fast Trak and Renegade tires as well as personal letters from the S-Racing athletes.
