Giro d'Italia #18: Tim Merlier wins in Padova ahead of Jonathan Milan

Merlier defeats Milan

He did it: Tim Merlier (Soudal – Quick-Step) took his long-awaited second stage win at the 2024 Giro d'Italia. After the Belgian had already won the first sprint finish, he had to wait a long time and repeatedly admit defeat. However, after 178 kilometers from Fiera di Primiero to Padova, he had the better end today. He referred jonathan milan (Lidl – Trek) and Caden Groves (Alpecin – Deceuninck) in second and third place. As expected, the outliers had no chance today. First a quartet joined in Mikkel Honore (EF Education – EasyPost), Filippo Fiorelli (VF Group – Bardiani CSF – Faizane), Andrea Pietrobon (Polti – Kometa) and Mirco Maestri (Polti – Kometa) on the run. They also joined us later Edward Affini (Visma – Lease a Bike). But ten kilometers from the finish the undertaking was over.
