Cycling: Filippo Ganna won the 14th stage of the Giro d'Italia. The Italian won the time trial with an average power of 460 watts and lived up to his role as favorite.
Ganna manages to get revenge on Pogacar
A week ago he was at a disadvantage, but now he has hit back impressively. Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) won the time trial on the 14th stage of the Giro d'Italia. The Italian champion was 31,2 seconds faster on the 29 kilometer course from Castiglione delle Stiviere to Desenzano del Garda Tadej pogacar (UAE). According to his own statements, he achieved this success with an average output of 460 watts - unbelievable. The podium completes Thymen Arensmann (Ineos Grenadiers). The Slovenian is of course the big winner in the overall ranking. But also Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain – Victorious) can be happy after this strong performance and set his sights on the podium. Between Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) and Daniel Martinez (Bora – hansgrohe) it remains close, even if the Brit was able to overtake the Colombian again.
Giro d'Italia: Phil Bauhaus drops out
Unfortunately, he didn't take part in the time trial anymore Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain – Victorious). The German left the Giro d'Italia this morning after finishing third in the bunch sprint yesterday. He can be quite happy with four results within the top ten, even if he wasn't able to win any of the races. Phil Bauhaus is now preparing for the Tour de France in July, where he dreams of winning a stage. For the sprinters there are now only two stages left to win at the Giro d'Italia - the 18th in Padova and the 21st in Rome.
