SKS COMPIT in the test: SKS is one of the leading manufacturers of bicycle accessories that has relied on “Made in Germany” for more than 100 years. With COMPIT they present a modular system that offers maximum flexibility.
The term COMPIT basically refers to the bayonet lock developed by SKS, with which the smartphone can be attached to the corresponding holder. But SKS thinks ahead and offers options for upgrading the holder. Whether it's a light, action cam, power bank or bottle holder, the system can be expanded as desired and therefore offers a high level of flexible solutions. In our test we looked at the SMARTBAG in combination with the +COM/Charger power bank.
It is necessary to look at the operating instructions
When we first saw the contents of the package with its 45 individual pieces, it was very reminiscent of Lego sets from childhood. And just a look at the very well-written operating instructions provides an overview of the various assembly options and the parts required. No matter which option you choose, tools are required for assembly. The scope of delivery includes a 3mm hexagon and 20mm Torx key, the additional 2,5mm hexagon key required is missing. There are different rubber pads so that the structure has enough support on the handlebars. The mount is designed for handlebars from 22,2mm to 35mm.
Inserting the smartphone into the SMARTBAG is self-explanatory. The bag also offers space for other small items such as repair kits or a small wallet. Alternatively, the +COM/Charger can also be inserted and secured using Velcro strips. The workmanship of the bag is successful and of high quality, and the sealed zipper also protects against external influences such as rain.
The +COM/CHARGER has a capacity of 10.000mAh hours, which means that a smartphone can be fully charged approximately 4 times. In addition to the two IP54 sealed USB ports (USB-A and USB-C), the power bank also enables wireless charging. The charge status of the power bank can be read at any time via a small display. To ensure that the power bank is compatible with the COMPIT system, it is equipped with the bayonet locking system on the top and bottom.

Charging via wireless charging
Once the holder is mounted and the smartphone is packed into the SMARTBAG, both units can be easily connected using the bayonet lock. The +COM/CHARGER can either be stored in the bag or installed between the SMARTBAG and the holder using a bayonet locking system. If the power bank is stored in the bag, the smartphone can also be charged using wireless charging. This worked very well in our test, but vibrations can interrupt the process. Wired charging is therefore recommended for tours over trails.
In terms of handling, we liked the holder; the smartphone can be conveniently placed in the SMARTTBAG and easily operated from the outside. The bag is also designed to be flexible enough to use the side buttons. Only the fingerprint window could not be aligned appropriately for our test device. A change from portrait to landscape format can be accomplished using a locking mechanism. When it comes to stability, there are no complaints; if the holder is installed properly, it is rock solid.
