The largest tool in the Cyclus Tools multitool series in the test: Cyclus Tools Folding Tool Pro

March 27, 2024 by Andrew Waldera

Test Minitools: The Cyclus Tools multitool series includes three small folding tools for quick repairs on the go. In contrast to many other manufacturers, the Erfurt-based manufacturer does not use a chain riveter on all of its tools. We took a close look at all three models in the big Velomotion Minitool test. In this part of the test we will focus on the largest tool in the series, the Cyclus Tools Folding Tool Pro.

Cyclus Tools Folding Tool Pro Minitool: Structure and processing

The Erfurt-based manufacturer Cyclus Tools develops and produces bicycle tools for professional workshops. With the folding tool series, the company also offers three little helpers for on the go. The Cyclus Tools folding tool Pro Minitool also meets the high standards of quality. All tools in the tool are clean and precisely processed. We also really like the length of the individual tools, which means deeper screws can be easily reached. The offer includes a complete set of Allen keys from 2 to 8 millimeters, a T25 Torx key and a slotted and Phillips screwdriver.

handling

Despite its rather angular appearance, the mini tool is surprisingly comfortable to hold. The dimensions and the flat design ensure a good feel and the stable construction also allows higher tightening torques without the tool twisting directly. Some of the individual tools sit quite tightly in the frame construction, so unintentional unfolding is impossible. However, the selection of tools is very limited. We miss a T10 Torx wrench as well as a chain tool. This is rarely needed, but without the appropriate tools a chain break is an absolute showstopper.
