The Italian won the fastest section in the history of this tour in a mass sprint ahead of the Norwegian alexander kristoff (Uno-X Mobility) and the Italian Davide Cimolai (Movistar). Tim Merlier (Soudal – Quick-Step) was no longer able to take part in today's mass sprint after his retirement. Daniel Martinez (Bora – hansgrohe) and Biniam Girmay (Intermarché – Wanty) didn't even start for the final stage.
