Jorgenson & Evenepoel triumph

The 82st edition of Paris – Nice is coming up Matteo Jorgenson (Visma – Lease a Bike). On the rear wheel of the Beliger Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick-Step), the American crossed the finish line in second place in the stage after 109,3 kilometers in Nice. Because of the big lead over his compatriot Brandon McNulty (UAE) he took the yellow jersey from him on the last day of the tour. So he could even afford to give Evenepoel the day's victory. The Belgian former world champion can also be happy about winning the mountain jersey and the points jersey. The final stage from Paris – Nice was very disappointing Primois Roglic (Bora – hansgrohe). The Slovenian was unable to keep up with the high pace of his opponents and lost a few places in the overall standings.

Buitrago & Gaudu give up Paris – Nice

In the initial phase was with Victor Campenaerts (Lotto – Dstny) a solo breakaway at the front of the race. As Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick-Step) went on the attack on the Cote de Peille, but his Belgian compatriot was lost. First, the overall leader could Brandon McNulty (UAE) to follow. At another attempt, however, he was defeated by Evenepoel, Alexander Vlasov (Bora – hansgrohe) and Matteo Jorgenson (Visma – Lease a Bike) shaken off. From then on, the trio drove together towards the destination. However, Vlasov could no longer follow his two companions up the Col des Quatre-Chemins. Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious) was unlucky today too. The Colombian crashed again, but this time he even had to give up the race. The Frenchman didn't even show up for the final stage david gaudu (Groupama – FDJ).

Remco Matteo

Evenepoel was the last one to Jorgenson who received the award from Paris-Niza.
