The new Scott Ransom: More integration, more enduro fun

February 1, 2024 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The first generation of the Scott Ransom was introduced in 2006 with the claim “Make Mountains Move”. Then as now, the Ransom wants to be an enduro bike for a completely new riding experience that feels comfortable on any terrain. In order to be able to offer new riding experiences again and again, even after many years of bike fun, and to meet the requirements of today's riders and routes, no effort has been spared to completely reissue the Scott Ransom. The geometry of the entire Ransom lineup was developed for maximum downhill performance and a consistently confident driving experience and should be equipped with unprecedented suspension kinematics. What is particularly strikingly inconspicuous is Scott's already known, patented integrated suspension technology (IST) in harmony with the brand new rear triangle.

Scott Ransom

The innovative suspension characteristics were the key factor in the development of the all-new Scott Ransom. The heart of this is the rear triangle in combination with the integrated suspension system, which made it possible to further refine the suspension properties. This is intended to give you a unique setup that acts as an efficient pedaling platform as well as offering incredible grip when braking and first-class support on the trails.

The integrated shock absorber determines the entire frame shape of the new Ransom, but for possible fears, access to the shock absorber is possible in seconds at the push of a button. The downtube cover, present on all Ransom models, provides equal access and protection. The opening is spacious, which makes cable management and everything related to maintenance much easier.

The frame layout of the new Scott Ransom was developed for demanding gravity use and is characterized by careful construction, which allows the load to be distributed evenly across each frame element, giving the new Ransom an even more balanced riding experience. This balance, with its various aspects, ensures confidence-inspiring handling in the roughest and fastest sections, but without compromising the bike's agility and precision - especially when things get technical.

Scott Ransom

The ransom is included by default 29 inch wheels equipped, but can also be driven with a 27,5-inch rear wheel setup. The Ransom can be easily adjusted using a simple flip chip and can be adapted to individual preferences. The head tube angle on the new Scott Ransom is also adjustable. The choice between a steeper and a flatter setup allows adjustment to personal preferences, terrain and riding style.

In addition to the damper, there is another highlight when it comes to integration: it is completely integrated into the down tube Syncros Matchbox Kit, which contains a spare tube, tire lever, a chain tool and a multi-tool., offers a clean and functional solution so that you have all the necessary items with you in the event of a technical defect.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
