Cycling: Brandon McNulty won the queen stage of the Tour of Valencia. The American also takes the lead in the overall ranking.
McNulty celebrates in Vall d'Ebo
The queen stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana really mixed up the overall rankings. Brandon McNulty (UAE) won after 175,2 kilometers from Teulada Moraira to Vall d'Ebo with a lead of eight seconds over the Colombian Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious) and the Russians Alexander Vlasov (Bora – hansgrohe). Drove as the best German-speaking driver Felix Grossschartner (UAE) as a noble assistant to today's winner in sixth place. Due to the large time gaps, McNulty also takes the lead in the overall standings. The previous leader Alessandro Tonelli (VF Group – Bardiani CSF – Faizanè) could not keep up with the high pace on the climb and fell far behind in the overall ranking. A mass sprint is expected on tomorrow's flat stage.
