Merlier will win his fourth stage in 2024
Stage win for Tim Merlier (Soudal – Quick Step). After an almost completely flat 168 kilometers from the Dubai Police Officer's Club to Dubai Harbor, the Belgian was the fastest man in the peloton in the bunch sprint. The 31-year-old was able to advance in a very exciting sprint on the fourth stage of the UAE Tour Arvid de Kleijn (Tudor) and the Dutchman Olav Kooij (Visma – Lease a Bike) from the Netherlands. Around three kilometers before the finish line there was a mass crash in which numerous Bora – Hansgrohe drivers were also involved. There were no changes in the top 10 in the overall ranking. The Australian Jay Vine (UAE) continues to lead by 11 seconds over his compatriot Ben O'Connor (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale). Another mass sprint awaits the professionals tomorrow in Umm Al Quwain.
