Cross-country racing weekend in Bonn: The day after the final run of the Bombtrack NRW Cross Cup powered by Schwalbe & Ryzon, the German University Cyclocross Championships will take place on January 28th.
After the successful premiere in autumn 2022, students and employees of German universities will soon be able to determine their best for the second time: in cooperation with the university sports department at the University of Bonn and the club Cycling meeting Campus Bonn The General German University Sports Association will again hold the German University Cyclocross Championships on January 28, 2024. As with the first edition, a top-class starting field can be expected: in 2022, Lea Lützen (Team Kandie-Gang Cake) and Lars Hemmerling (Team Recon) prevailed and secured the coveted championship jerseys. The respective podium could have also existed in the Bundesliga.
Licensed race and popular sports event
In addition to the German University Championship, the adh Cup is held for drivers without a racing license. Here you can also start with a gravel bike with wider tires than in cyclocross. Students and employees from all universities can take part in the German University Championship. Registration takes place via the respective university; Information about this can be found on the adh website. The supporting program will also include a cross-country run, an MTB race and eMTB races on the route. The race for the adh Cup is integrated into a hobby cyclocross/gravel race.
Final of the Bombtrack NRW Cross Cup powered by Schwalbe & Ryzon
The day before, the final of the Frank Oxenfart Campus Cross took place on the same route Bombtrack NRW Cross Cup powered by Schwalbe & Ryzon 2023/24. There are cross-country races in all classes for license and hobby. This gives students the chance to have a nice cross-country weekend at the end of January – perhaps rewarded with the coveted adh badge of honor!
The Radtreff Campus Bonn is hosting a cyclocross event for the fifth time. With the University of Bonn's university sports grounds, the busy club offers the perfect venue: The course is challenging and varied; parking, showers, and catering are centrally located within the grounds. For the final of the NRW Cross Cup alone, over 1.500 People expected.
