If you sort gravel bikes into the three categories “Trail”, “Tour” and “Race”, the Storck Grix.2 is pretty much halfway between the latter two. Anyone who just takes a quick look at the bike from the innovative manufacturer from Idstein, who presented the first carbon fully with the “Organic” in 1998, could mistake it for an aero racing machine - flat shapes, one-piece carbon cockpit, completely integrated Cables and grooved seat tube, plus deeply profiled carbon wheels, which are also super light. Viewed up close, the Storck shows the numerous mounting options that are needed for a fully-fledged “Randonneur”: Like the classic touring racing bike, the Grix.2 can be equipped with carrier systems, mudguards and various bottle holders; The fact that there are no cables running in front of the stem makes it easier to attach a handlebar bag.
Wide tires and racing bike feeling
And the Storck also brings something from the “trail” category: tires that are a good 50 mm wide fit through the fork and rear triangle, which means the bike can be moved even on really rough terrain. Even if the sporty sitting position is of course not tailored to real trail use. Steep head angle and short head tube ensure a real racing bike feeling when handling; Added to this is the noticeably high frame rigidity, especially in the steering area.
