Raffle: Velomotion and Magura are giving away two copies of the new Vyron dropper post as well as three MT5 Pro brake systems.
Modern mountain biking is all about the descent. Whether organic bike or e-MTB, whether trail hardtail or all-mountain fully: the suspension travel has become longer, the brakes are more stable and many people no longer want to go off-road without a dropper post. Suspension travel and brakes – sure. But what's the deal with the latter? Lowering the saddle downhill has at least two advantages: Firstly, the rider's center of gravity moves downwards, which increases driving stability and makes the bike less top-heavy on extremely steep sections. On the other hand, you can move the MTB better underneath you if the saddle is lower, as it then doesn't hit the inside of your thigh as quickly.

Magura Vyron: the first electronic dropper post on the market
Conventional lowerable supports are activated by a pulley, and if the dropper is part of the original equipment, this is no problem. In the best case scenario, your train is routed internally and doesn't cause any problems. However, retrofitting it is a different matter: Not every frame is designed for this, laying the cable is complicated and if the cable is unhooked, there is a lot of work involved.
Is there another way? But of course – Magura shows us how. The traditional manufacturer, founded in 1893 by Gustav Magenwirth in Bad Urach (hence the company name - Magenwirth bathroom Urach), is primarily known among mountain bikers for its disc brakes and suspension elements, but has long since expanded its hydraulics expertise to include seat posts. In 2015, Magura was the first manufacturer to bring an electronic-wireless dropper post onto the market. At that time it was based on the ANT+ radio standard, which Magura also used for an electronic chassis, and the somewhat slow release speed was occasionally criticized. Magura saw great potential for improvement in the power supply, among other things, as the charging socket did not meet the high demands for waterproofness.
Two diameters, four adjustment options
With the new Magura Vyron, these details have been optimized, and the inner workings of the support have also been significantly revised. The support is available in two diameters (30,9 and 31,6 mm) and two variants: one with 100 or 125 mm stroke, one with 150 or 175 mm, whereby the adjustment range is changed with spacers. This is useful when the support changes to a different sized frame that requires a change in stroke. The power is supplied via batteries - a CR2 in the support, which should last for a year, and a CR2032 button cell in the remote lever, which now communicates with the support via Bluetooth.

Magura Vyron MDS-V3: New wireless dropper post
Product news: With the Magura Vyron MDS-V3, the manufacturer from the Swabian Alb presents the third version of its wireless vario support. Developed from the ground up, it should be a direct competitor to the Reverb AXS from RockShox. Electronic, wireless components on bicycles and MTBs have really become popular in the last two or three years […]
Magura MT5 Pro: Four-piston brake with one-finger operation
All of this speaks for top functionality and many possible uses, from fully to e-trekking bikes, where a dropper post makes it easy to get on and off. And Magura also has something new to offer in its core area: With the MT5 Pro, an optimized four-piston brake system is available, which is easier to control with a new sensor design and can be operated with just one finger. This means that the pressure point is clearer and the lever can be positioned closer to the handlebars, which is good for small hands. The four-piston brake calipers bite into “Magura Storm HC” brake discs with a diameter of 203/180 mm.
