Raffle Sigma Aura/Blaze Link: The cold and dark months are just around the corner and cyclists in particular - whether commuters or ambitious athletes - often find the short days difficult. So that you can at least fight against the darkness a little and are best equipped for your rides, we are giving away a total of 8 lighting sets worth 120 euros here on Velomotion together with the German manufacturer Sigma, consisting of the Aura 100 Link front light and the Blaze Link rear light.
With the Sigma Aura/Blaze Link lighting set, bicycle lights can be controlled, designed and experienced in a whole new way. Thanks to the innovative functions, 100 lux luminosity and 110 meter beam range, nothing stands in the way of driving even on the darkest days. The Blaze Link rear light ensures even better visibility with its additional brake light function.
The highlight of the Sigma Aura/Blaze lighting set (warning: pun!) is the intelligent link function, through which the front light and the rear light can be easily linked together so that they can be controlled together directly via the front light. You can also easily read the battery level of both lights via the front light.
Safe in the dark – What you need to know about bicycle lights!
Without good bicycle lighting, cyclists have a difficult time in the autumn and winter months due to the short days. Front and rear lights ensure the necessary safety and visibility in road traffic. Together with Sigma we have collected some information so that you know about the topic of bicycle lighting.
Which lighting is permitted in Germany?
The legal requirements for bicycle lighting in Germany are regulated in the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). This includes front and rear lighting, but also reflectors at the front and rear. StVZO-approved lighting must have a glare-free beam, may have a high beam and can be removable. Flashing front or rear lights are not StVZO compliant. To make sure that your bicycle lights are approved for street use, you can check their approval number. For this purpose, lights that meet all quality and safety criteria have a so-called K number, which can be found on the lights.
What do lumens and lux mean?
When you talk about (bicycle) lighting, the terms lumen or lux inevitably come up, including the corresponding values. Lumens and lux are light and brightness measurements respectively. The visible luminous flux emitted by a lamp is called lumen. Lumen therefore indicates how much light a lamp emits. Lux indicates the strength of the light from a lamp that hits a specific surface. This is the name given to the light that is emitted by the lamp and that actually reaches a specific point on a surface, for example the street. The specified lux value for bicycle lights always refers to the brightest point at a distance of 10 meters.
Win one of eight Sigma Aura/Blaze Link lighting sets worth 120 euros!

Sigma Night Ride with Marcel Kittel and Karl Platt: Fascination Gravel - what do the pros say about it?
A few weeks ago we were guests at Sigma in Landau in der Pfalz and were able to go on an adventurous night ride with Marcel Kittel, Karl Platt and some friends.
