The family bikes from the Dutch provider are now a fixture in city traffic. On the other hand, Babboe has now also adopted the mid-engine and equips the models called "Mountain" with a Yamaha drive, which with 70 Nm torque is significantly more powerful than the Babboes with rear engines (40 Nm). In addition, the mid-motor is compatible with hub gears, and so the manufacturer equips its "Mountain" cargo bikes with the continuously variable Enviolo transmission. Apart from the wide range of gear ratios, this gearshift is very user-friendly and superior to the derailleur gears used in combination with the rear motor, also in terms of low maintenance.
Babboe City Mountain: Popular family bike for up to four children
Among the cargo bikes in Babboe's portfolio, the City and City Mountain models in particular set standards in terms of user-friendliness and flexibility. With a width of 65 cm, it can get through anywhere in city traffic; The wooden box with so-called mouse holes for easier entry can be equipped with up to four seats. As an accessory there is a large rain cover that allows year-round use. As usual, the cargo bike is delivered in one size, with the flat seat angle allowing optimal height adjustment of the saddle. Disc brakes are part of the equipment, as is a frame lock, and of course a solid two-legged stand. The closed chain case minimizes wear on the link chain, prevents chain grease on the trouser leg and is ultimately safer for small children.
The display of the drive system, which is placed on the left of the handlebars and is limited to basic information, is simple and user-friendly - great, because you don't need more than the battery level, driving level and driving speed in everyday life. The battery – available with capacities of 400 or 500 watt hours – is located under the seat and is of course lockable.
