Bicycle tire lever test: As we all know, sustainability starts with the little things in everyday life. However, the tire levers, which are mostly made of plastic, seem to be left out in this regard - with a few exceptions. These include the Forge + Bond Recycled Fusionfiber Tire Levers, which held their own in our test.
Forge + Bond Recycled Fusionfiber Tire Levers: First Impressions
The Forge + Bond Recycled Fusionfiber Tire Levers are made from recycled carbon fiber. According to the manufacturer, the bicycle tire levers were carbon wheels in their previous life. This is made possible by Fusionfiber, a proprietary material and process that can be recycled over and over again. Not only does it sound good, but the end product also looks great. At 153 millimeters, the tire levers are quite long and thus promise good leverage. The weight of only 25 grams per lever also speaks for itself. There is a one-sided spoke hook, but the set of 2 does not have the option of plugging them together.
The bicycle tire levers in the test
The recycled carbon fiber material provides a pleasant grip and, in combination with the lever length and the matt surface, very efficient work is possible. Even when using a lot of force, the tire levers remain absolutely torsion-resistant. If the tires are tight, a little more force has to be used due to the thick blade, but this is not a problem given the good feel. Despite our initial fears, the spoke hook, which is only slightly pronounced, can be fixed well and securely - the length of the lever also has a positive effect here.
