Cycling: Giulio Ciccone won the eighth and final stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. Jonas Vingegaard couldn't take the yellow jersey away.

Ciccone climbs to victory of the day

With an impressive performance has become Julius Ciccone (Trek – Segafredo) secured the eighth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. The Italian was part of a breakaway on the 152,8-kilometre stretch from Le Pont-de-Claix to La Bastille in Grenoble Alpes Métropole. Also Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal - Quick-Step) was in the breakaway but could not hold his own at the front. Behind had Leader jonas vingegaard (Jumbo – Visma) everything under control. In the final ramp, the Dane broke away from his companions, but was no longer able to catch the lucky stage winner.
