Bicycle tool test: After testing the Procraft tool case Starter, we naturally also looked at the "extended" version. This goes by the promising name Procraft Tool Case Professional and, according to the manufacturer, is aimed at ambitious do-it-yourself screwdrivers with its full range.
General information about the manufacturer
The bicycle manufacturer MCG, based in Magstadt, Swabia, serves the bicycle accessories sector with its own Procraft brand. According to the company, in order to be able to meet the highest demands, only global suppliers and producers are considered. The brand relies on in-house testing machines to ensure the reliably high quality of the products. The quality concept is underlined by a 5-year guarantee on all products.
Procraft Tool Case Professional: First impression
Unlike the Starter tool case, the Professional version comes in a large and spacious tool box. Made of robust plastic, the product gives a valuable impression. The stable closures ensure that the box is closed securely. A special recess allows you to lock it with a padlock if necessary. Inside, the box is divided into three floors. In the lowest level there is a cleanly cut foam insert with the associated tool. The two levels above can be removed and thus allow uncomplicated access. The top level is particularly suitable for small tools. Subdivided compartments allow individual sorting.
Processing and feel
When you take a look at the Procraft tool case Professional, it quickly becomes clear that it is not just an increased version of the starter set. Rather, completely different tools are used in some cases. Particularly striking is the chain tool, which in this design offers very confident handling and can in no way be compared with the cheaper version. We also really like the individual cone wrenches. The handles made of plastic were already convincing in the starter set. We would only prefer the longer version for the tire levers. All in all, the tools make a good quality impression for the price.
Which repairs are possible and can the tool convince in use?
The Procraft tool case Professional is equipped with equipment that allows for a wide range of repair work. Like the Allen key set, the Torx set is complete. Bottom bracket wrenches are also included, as are chainring bolt holders, crank pullers, chain whips, headset wrenches and cassette pullers. The seven cone wrenches, the cable pliers and the three spoke wrenches speak for themselves. A chain cleaner and a cassette cleaning brush are also included in the bicycle tool box for cleaning. The only things missing are a torque wrench and an assembly tool for bearing shells.
