Tour de Romandie prologue: Cerny & Cavagna celebrate a double victory

25 April 2023 by Michael Behringer

Cerny Tour de Romandie

Cycling: Josef Cerny won the prologue of the Tour de Romandie. With a time of 7:25, the Czech was slightly faster than his teammate Remi Cavagna.

Cerny surprises the favorites

There were a few names that were mentioned as potential daily winners at the start of the Tour de Romandie. In the end, a slight outsider wins the race. Josef cerny (Soudal – Quick-Step) wins the 6,82-kilometre prologue, which starts and finishes in Port-Valais, ahead of his team-mate Remi Cavagna (Soudal - Quick Step). Third place went to World Champion Tobias Foss (Jumbo - Visma). Best German was Nico Denz (Bora – hansgrohe) in fourth place. The 76th Tour de Romandie ends on Sunday in Geneva and, as in previous years, is considered preparation for the Giro d'Italia.
