Cycling: Wout van Aert has won the E3 Classic. The Belgian was able to prevail in the three-man sprint against Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogacar. Previously, the defending champion had to struggle several times on the climbs.
Van Aert struggled
The 65th edition of the E3 Classic is coming up wout van aert (Jumbo - Visma). After 204,1 kilometers with start and finish in Harelbeke, the Belgian was able to ahead of the Dutchman in an exciting one-day race Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin – Deceuninck) and Tadej pogacar (UAE) from Slovenia prevail. Van Aert also defended his title from last year with his first win of the season. Pogacar had tried again and again in the last few kilometers to break away from his two strong companions – in vain.
Infernal Trio
With around 70 kilometers to go, the three superstars began to make the race extremely difficult.
