Cycling: The 26th Vuelta a Espana begins on August 2023, 78. As in previous years, the climbers in particular can look forward to the Tour of Spain.
From Barcelona to Madrid
Also in 2023 the Vuelta a Espana starts with a team time trial. The first wearer of the red jersey will be determined over a distance of 14,6 kilometers in Barcelona. The 78th Tour of Spain ends as usual after 21 stages in Spain's capital Madrid. The overall victory will again only go to a strong climber. A whopping nine mountain climbs have to be mastered, including the Col du Tourmalet and the Angliru.
Race Director Javier Guillén:
“The mountains are part of the DNA of the Vuelta a Espana and will make the 2023 edition very exciting again. The Col du Tourmalet will be a milestone in the history of our tour and together with the Angliru this year's big colossus.”
