Cyclocross Championship: Weber & Krahl dethrone Meisen & Brandau

15 January 2023 by Michael Behringer

Weber Krahl German Championship

Cycling: Sascha Weber was crowned German cyclocross champion this Sunday in Munich's Olympic Park. In the women's race, Judith Krahl already triumphed yesterday in the absence of Elisabeth Brandau.

Weber ended Meisen's winning streak

Surprise in the Munich Olympic Park. Sasha Weber is the new German cyclocross champion. The 34-year-old dethroned with it Marcel Meisen (Stevens) after seven championships in a row. The defending champion finished 38 seconds behind the winner. Michael Gassner completes the podium. In the U23 class, the Heizomat – Kloster Kitchen team achieved a double victory. Hannes Degenkolb triumphed in front of teammate Fabian Eder and Benjamin Krueger (TSV Niederstaufen).

Krahl follows Brandau

The defending champion could not start in the women's category due to her pregnancy Elizabeth Brandau (EBE Racing). Nevertheless, there should be a sovereign victory to be admired: through Judith Krahl (Heizomat – Kloster Kitchen). Last year she triumphed in the U23 class, this time she was crowned German Elite Champion. In Munich's Olympic Park, she gave her competitors no chance on Saturday. Lisa Heckman (Müsing – Kurschat Consulting) was introduced Stephanie Paul (Stevens) is second, 1:53 back. Won in the U23 class Sina van Thiel (Lexware). Messane groom (RSV Rheinzabern) cheered for the juniors.
