Extensive range of tools for ambitious hobby mechanics in the test: ROSE ALL2GETHER High Performance XXL bicycle tool case

26 January 2023 by Andrew Waldera

ROSE ALL2GETHER High Performance XXL bicycle tool case

Bicycle tool test: With the ALL2GETHER product line, the Bocholt-based bike brand ROSE offers several tool cases for bicycle repairs. The range extends from the basic model for 49,95 euros to the professional version for almost 220 euros. The price of the ROSE ALL2GETHER High Performance XXL bicycle tool case that we tested is just under the most expensive model. Of course, our expectations were correspondingly high.

General information about the manufacturer

For more than 110 years, the name Rose has stood for cycling and the passion for bicycles. A small bicycle shop in Bocholt, which was founded in 1907 by Heinrich Rose, marked the beginning. The company, which is still firmly in family hands today, started out as a mail order business in the 1980s and launched its own brand ROSE Bikes in 2011. In addition to the ROSE Biketown in Bocholt, ROSE Bikes is now represented in a total of 15 cities with stores and workshops.

ROSE ALL2GETHER High Performance XXL bicycle tool case: first impression

The compact plastic case contains an extensive repertoire of different tools. These are placed and fixed in the integrated fit, which is also made of plastic - just like the two closures. It doesn't look particularly classy overall, but it does its job in the end. The arrangement of the bicycle tools is clear and thus enables quick access. The application and use of the individual tools is explained in the accompanying operating instructions.

Processing and feel

The quality of the tools cannot quite reach Birzman, Topeak & Co., but can still be classified as good. The feel of the tools is absolutely convincing. Whether chain tool, bottom bracket tool or cable pliers, the tools are exemplary in the hand. With the sprocket pliers, ROSE stands out completely from the competition. Uncomplicated and safe to use, this tool deserves full marks. We also really like the two extra-long tire levers, with which even stubborn tires can be peeled off the rim.

Which repairs are possible and can the tool convince in use?

The additional designation XXL in the product name quickly leads to the conclusion that this bicycle tool case is an all-round carefree package. Appearances don't deceive! The tool set leaves almost nothing to be desired and even includes a high-quality torque wrench and a press-in tool. Actually, only two cone wrenches and a 12-tooth bottom bracket tool are missing from the case. Equipped like this, nothing stands in the way of most repairs on the bike.
