Specialized Prime Collection: Well prepared for the winter

7 December 2022 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the Specialized Prime collection, the US manufacturer of bicycles and equipment also wants to take its cycling clothing for cold days to the next level. The aim of the development was to make the driving experience more pleasant in winter. Different layers were designed for this, which not only to the last Thought out to the last detail, but should offer the best performance and an elegant style. The newly designed products of the Specialized Prime collection include the Prime Power Grid jersey and the Prime Alpha jacket. Both products should ensure that all riders are well warmed and get through the cold days in style.

Specialized Prime collection at a glance

The Specialized Prime collection for autumn and winter is completely geared towards functionality and comfort on cold days, so that you are also well prepared for long rides.

Prime Power Grid Jersey LS

The long sleeve Prime Power Grid Jersey features a full zip and is designed to be as minimalist as possible. The aim was to use as little material as possible while still keeping the riders warm and dry. The patented Polartec Power Grid mesh construction increases thermal properties and breathability while saving on materials. With three pockets on the back you have enough space to stow your most important items.

Prime Alpha jacket

A real highlight of the Specialized Prime collection is the insulating Prime Alpha jacket. This should not only keep you warm, but also offer full freedom of movement and ensure that you feel comfortable on any bike ride even in extremely cold temperatures. The Alpha Direct insulation is characterized by fluffy fibers that not only feel very soft on the skin, but are also said to improve breathability without wrinkling. The breathable upper material wicks the moisture in the insulation to the outside and keeps you dry and warm throughout the ride. In the three pockets on the back there is also enough space for all equipment.

Prime wind vest

Another important part of the Specialized Prime collection is the Prime cycling vest, which should impress with its extremely small pack size. As an all-round weapon against the wind, the Prime vest can always be carried in the jersey pocket. The full zip at the front is used to adjust the right amount of ventilation and the partially elasticated cuffs at the hips and shoulders offer a seamless transition and lock out the cold.

Prime Alpha vest

Compared to the classic wind vest, the insulating Alpha vest provides the ultimate protection against the cold and is often used as the last layer on cold days. Moisture in the insulation is channeled outwards via the breathable upper material, keeping you dry and warm throughout the ride. The Soft Alpha Direct insulation provides warmth and allows longer rides in the cold seasons. All ride essentials can be safely stowed away in the two pockets on the back.
