Cycling: In 2023, a new cycling team will enrich us. The Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is run with a license from Switzerland as a UCI ProTeam and is managed by Douglas Ryder. Vincenzo Nibali is also there – but only as a technical advisor and not as a driver.

Q36.5 wants to move up to the WorldTour
Douglas Ryder is a single-minded and persistent man. The South African was last active as manager of the MTN-Qhubeka team. However, after the African team could no longer find new sponsors, it had to be disbanded. Since then, Ryder has been looking for a new opportunity - and now it has arisen. Under the Swiss flag he will lead the new Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. As a sponsor, the Italian cycling clothing manufacturer has a clear goal in mind: the WorldTour.
Hopes rest on Brambilla & Moschetti
Because 2023 is the first of the 3-year cycle, the team will need to perform well through 2025 to earn WorldTour status in 2026. A powerful team has now been put together for this purpose. Vincenzo Nibali as technical director and Alex Sans Vega as head of the performance department are allowed to look after the drivers, among other things Jack Bauer, Gianluca Brambilla, and Matteo Moschetti and Carl Fredrik Hagen build. In addition, two other major donors are expected to join the team. Douglas Ryder is now actually serious about this. However, he unfortunately had to give up his original plan to set up an African team. With Negasi Haylu Abreha there is currently only one African in the squad.
So happy to see @NegasiHaylu4 step up https://t.co/rKx73FfxEf
