With the Precede:ON AL, Canyon skilfully shows what you need for everyday cycling and where the lack of technology even has a positive effect. When it comes to the drive, it turns out that the Bosch Performance is actually completely sufficient - it is more harmonious than the CX variant, has very strong thrust and can also cope with high double-digit gradient percentages. The combination of wide tires and rigid fork also pays off: It stands for steering precision, shock absorption and optimal interlocking of tire profile and ground, so that braking maneuvers do not lead to locking wheels, but to a safe standstill. The slightly elastic two-finger levers of the Magura brake system also contribute to this, which prevent excessive power transmission during emergency braking.
The stepless Enviolo hub, which is connected to the motor via a toothed belt, offers a high level of shifting comfort - a tried and tested combination that requires almost no care at all. Add to that a very bright lighting system, the elegant aluminum cockpit with fully integrated cable routing and the solid equipment with aluminum mudguards and solid carrier, and you have a versatile e-bike, where the only thing you could miss is a spring-loaded seat post - but it can easily be retrofitted.
