Cycling: Somewhat surprisingly, Jesus Herrada won the seventh stage of the Vuelta a Espana in a small breakaway sprint. The Spaniard defeated, among others, the pros Samuele Battistella from Italy and Fred Wright from Great Britain, who were actually estimated to be faster in the end.

Herrada celebrates his second Vuelta stage win
At the end of the day, the Trek – Segafredo team could not reward themselves. Up the Puerto de San Glorio, the US team pushed the pace in the peloton to get rid of the fastest sprinters. That also succeeded – but they could no longer provide the breakaway group. The Spaniard won after 190 kilometers from Camargo to Cistierna Jesus Herrada (Cofidis) in the sprint of a breakaway group of six at the beginning. The 32-year-old Spaniard is thus celebrating his second Vuelta stage win – and it came as a surprise. Because he referred Samuele Battistella (Astana) and Fred Wright (Bahrain – Victorious) two men in second and third place, who are actually classified as significantly faster on paper. There were no changes at the very front in the overall classification. Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) remains in the red jersey.
#LaVuelta22 Wright doesn't have the head and the speed of the sprint, but the speed of the group is even greater.
Herrada capitaliza correctamente, otorgando a triunfo de gran valor para Cofidis.
