Video: The Epic Bikepark Leogang is particularly known in the scene for its World Cup downhill route. However, the region in northern Austria offers so much more. Our sister magazine Gravity paid a visit.
In the past, bike parks were only for those who know the scene, adrenaline junkies and very experienced mountain bikers. In the last five to ten years, this picture has changed and many bike parks now also offer a huge range for beginners or families - from easy trails to riding technique courses or schools to wellness offers. A complicated balancing act for many parks, after all, you also want to stand by your roots.
Bikepark Leogang: Suitable for families despite the World Cup route?
An example of what such a modern bike park can look like is the Leogang Bike Park. One of the most well-known bike spots in Europe is only about a two-hour drive from Munich. Gravity fans may know the park in particular as the site of the annual World Cup or as the venue for the Downhill World Championship. With meanwhile ten routes, great infrastructure and a huge offer for families, the park is not only worth a trip for the downhill fans mentioned at the beginning.
If you are in the area a little longer, you can even make a trip to the neighboring and partner region Saalbach-Hinterglemm and the trails there. There is even a connecting path for bikes between the regions.
Given all these qualities, it's not so surprising then that they confidently call themselves "Epic". The colleagues of our sister magazine Gravity got to the bottom of the question: How epic is it really?
