Vos wins ahead of Persico and Niewiadoma

Contrary to expectations, there were large gaps on the second stage of the Tour de France Femmes. Also due to numerous falls, the field broke up into several parts in the last few kilometers. Six riders benefited from the chaos and formed an extremely strong escape group after the intermediate sprint. In the sprint for the day's win, as expected Marianne Vos (Jumbo – Visma) the better ending in itself. The Dutchman also takes over the overall lead after only just missing out on the yellow jersey with second place yesterday. The birthday child sprinted to second place today Silvia Persian (Valcar – Travel & Service). Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM Racing).

Many falls overshadow the second stage

The French team FDJ – Suez – Futuroscope was hit hard today. The Giro second Martha Cavalli had to give up the race after a fall. Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig lost 1:38 minutes. teammate Evita Muzic was in the lead until the end, but then also fell. Giro winner Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) didn't have a good day either. The Dutch finished 34 seconds behind the winner, as did the German hope Liana Lippert (DSM).
