Wiebes sprints into the yellow jersey
Today Paris is not only the scene of the last stage of the men's Tour de France, but also the venue of the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes. After starting at the Eiffel Tower, the riders had to cover 81,7 kilometers before they determined the first stage winner on the Champs-Élysées. As expected, there was a mass sprint at the start. The Dutchwoman won this Lorraine Wiebes (DSM) in front of her compatriot Marianne Vos (Jumbo - Visma). This also makes her the first wearer of the newly founded Tour de France Femmes. Best German was Lisa Brennauer (Ceratizit – WNT) in 19th place. Liana Lippert (DSM) was in 40th place at the same time, but will still be very happy about their teammates' victory today. After eight stages, the overall winner will be crowned on La Super Planche des Belles Filles.
