Raffle: Win a Citec road bike wheelset

July 1, 2022 by Florian Nowak

Raffle Citec

Citec Raffle: Take a look at the Racing bikes used by professionals in the Tour de France on, you can quickly see that the frames for the different terrains differ significantly. But not only the frames, but also the wheels are specially selected according to the altitude profile, wind conditions and route. Of course, because as a professional in the toughest bike race in the world, you want to have the best material available on every stage and not waste any unnecessary seconds. Unfortunately, these options are rarely available to ambitious recreational cyclists, which is why the choice mostly falls on all-rounders, whether for the frame or the wheels. With the Citec 3000 S Aero, the German manufacturer has a true all-rounder in its own ranks that is just waiting to get going.

The Citec 3000 S Aero wheelset for the road has been redesigned from the ground up for the 2020 season for even better all-round capabilities and thus ensures even more performance, while staying true to its classic approach. With its 30mm rim height, a special concave system design and tubeless suitability, the 3000 S Aero, which weighs just 1330 grams, is a faithful companion for every challenge on the racing bike.

The highlight of the wheelset is that Concave rim system In addition, there are first-class lateral stiffness values, which are significantly influenced by the ETS spoke system and the high flange distance of the high-end hubs. In addition, the rear wheel has twice as many spokes on the cassette side as on the opposite side, which results in symmetrical spoke tension. The so-called power block system is also used here, in which any movements between the hub and the spoke are eliminated by directly screwing the arcless spokes into special adapter sleeves of the hub. Among other things, this also ensures that spokes no longer break under constant stress and permanent re-tensioning or re-centering becomes unnecessary. The Citec 3000 S Aero not only stands for classic performance, but also for robust durability.

We have the 3000 S Aero wheelset from Citec already tested extensively. You can find our test report here:
