Raffle: Win a Fulcrum MTB wheelset

30 May 2022 by Florian Nowak

Fulcrum raffle: Italian wheel specialist Fulcrum launched two new models for mountain bikes at the beginning of the year. In addition to the Red Zone Carbon, a variant made of aluminum was also presented with the Red Zone 3. Both wheels rely on low weight and at the same time should convince with high robustness. As a highlight, you can now win the Fulcrum Red Zone 3 MTB wheelset!

The Fulcrum Red Zone 3 is an all-round wheel for MTB use. With its extremely versatile area of use and the robust construction, the wheelset is perfect for training rides and other adventures. The aluminum rim is said to have benefited from the development of its big brother made of carbon, because the hubs and spokes in particular were designed in the same way. The Red Zone 3 has 24 spokes on the front wheel and 28 on the rear wheel, combined with conical hub bodies and adjustable cone bearings, it offers a lot of stability. Added to this is the rim height of 19 mm and an inner width of 25 mm. The matte finish with laser-etched graphics also gives the Fulcrum MTB wheel a premium look. So you are not only well prepared thanks to the high level of resilience, but can also impress visually.

Fulcrum Red Zone 3 – technologies at a glance

Wide Rim Tech

The Fulcrum development department has reacted to feedback from the professionals and is therefore trying to create rims with a larger width. The extra contact surface guarantees stability, optimal handling and a high level of comfort.

Cup & Cone

The sleeve and cone bearing differs from the classic cartridge bearings in that it works in perfect alignment with the appropriate forces, weight and thrusts coming from the frame, since the balls run on a groove positioned in direct opposition to these forces.

Square milling

The triple mill post-processing structure helps minimize the thickness of the aluminum. This means less material and the same reliability, because with this special design the forces on the rim are well distributed. Triple post-milling and square milling allow for the greatest reduction in rim weight to make the wheel extremely accelerating yet stable.

Asymmetric Rim

The rim asymmetry was designed to improve the tension of the rim while balancing the forces coming from the brakes and sprocket pack.
