Simon Yates becomes the top favorite

Before the time trial in Budapest, the experts speculated a lot about who could be considered the favorite to win the day. With Simon yates (BikeExchange – Jayco) but nobody expected it. The Briton won the 9,2-kilometre battle against the clock by a margin of three and five seconds respectively over the two Dutchmen Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin – Fenix) and Tom Dumoulin (Jumbo - Visma). This put Simon Yates in the role of favorite for overall victory. However, Rosa remains on the shoulders of Mathieu van der Poel. Stark also presented himself Lennard Kamna (Bora – hansgrohe). The German finished eighth, one place ahead of the Swiss Mauro Schmid (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl). Must be very disappointed Emmanuel Buchman (Bora – hansgrohe). The German hope for the overall ranking is only listed in 95th place. The 29-year-old lost almost a minute to the day's winner because he fell on the way.
