Riding technique for the E-MTB: Thanks to the e-drive, mountain biking is becoming more and more mainstream and even inexperienced bikers come to dangerous places with demanding descents and rooted trails. The right driving technique is very important and should be trained extensively before the first mountain tour. In our video series on the topic of riding technique on mountain bikes with and without an electric drive, we show videos every Friday with all the relevant information and give tips for safe descent.
Together with Stefan Hermann and the experts from the MTB Academy, we want to provide you with a new video with tips and tricks for the right riding technique on the E-MTB every Friday. So you have enough time to practice the knowledge from the videos extensively on your bikes and to learn the right riding technique. We start with the basics, like the basic position or the right balance on the bike. Videos on better braking and cornering also take us to more advanced topics, such as rear wheel conversion or push techniques.
In this way, every mountain biker - whether beginner or advanced - can improve their riding level and certainly have more fun mountain biking.
1. Riding technique video: Basic position on the E-MTB
In the first video we show you how to find the right basic position on the E-MTB. It is the starting point for all other techniques and is therefore particularly important, since mistakes in this area also make everything that follows more difficult. So a lot of emphasis should be placed on the correct basic position, but good news: the basic position can be learned easily and with zero risk.
About the MTB Academy
Imparting mountain bike riding technique at the highest level – that is the aim of the MTB Academy. The lessons in small groups are intended to bring the participants closer to all relevant topics of mountain biking in an effective, relaxed and lasting way: from the correct basic position to effective braking, mastering curves and switchbacks to steep steps and bunny hops.
An important part of the MTB Academy are camps in the most beautiful bike regions in Europe with different focal points, such as tours, single trail or freeride. At the camps, the students are gradually introduced to new techniques and situations. With small groups adapted to the performance level, a good mood and pleasant learning, the experienced trainers ensure that the participants can fully concentrate on having fun cycling and learning the right riding technique for the E-MTB.
