S-Works Vent Evo: For cool feet on the trails

March 3, 2022 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the S-Works Vent road shoe and the S-Works Prevail Vent II helmet, the US manufacturer Specialized has its own product category for its accessories, which comes with breathing and cooling properties ("Vent") and thus wants to offer more comfort. The newest member of the Vent family is the S-Works Vent Evo, which was specially made for use on gravel or XC trails.

The Specialized S-Works Vent Evo shoe offers the same performance, durability and technical innovation as the S-Works Recon, but has been supplemented with the already proven airflow advantage. Thanks to the revolutionary, ventilated mesh upper, the feet are now optimally ventilated on the trails.

Specialized S-Works Vent Evo with Airflow

S-Works Vent Evo

The secret of the new S-Works Vent Evo shoe is airflow. Here, the engineers and designers at Specialized have analyzed every ventilation option, no matter how small, and rethought every flexible part of the upper with breathable inserts to ensure feet are kept as cool and dry as possible under any load. The airflow-optimized mesh upper material of the Vent Evo thus ensures a constant supply of fresh air to the toes, shoe tongue and foot flanks, thus ensuring additional driving comfort and particularly cool feet.

As usual with Specialized, the fit is at the top of the list in addition to the functionality. One goal in developing the Vent Evo was to cover the feet of as many riders as possible. That's why the design is based on an innovative mix of materials and a particularly flexible contour to enable a varied fit. The innovative mesh pattern and the Dyneema inserts also offer ideal freedom of movement without slipping. The result should be a shoe that draws attention to itself without pressure point problems for use on any surface.

According to the manufacturer, the newest member of the Vent family is not only the most breathable shoe ever developed, but it also has all the features and details of the competition-proven bestseller Recon. Thus, the extremely light and stiff Fact Powerline carbon sole is also used on the Vent Evo, but also the well-known and scientifically based Body Geometry footbed. This should lay the basis for the best performance and maximum comfort.

Specialized S-Works Vent Evo Features:

  • Light and stiff Fact carbon sole
  • Vent Airflow: Proven ventilation properties for cool feet
  • Mesh and Dyneema upper for best fit
  • Body geometry fit system
