Cycling: Mad Pedersen made a very good start to the season. After second place at the GP de Marseille La Marseillaise, the Dane won the start of the Etoile de Bessèges in a demanding and very long sprint ahead of Hugo Hofstetter.
Pedersen wins difficult sprint
The Etoile de Bessèges 2022 started today, Wednesday, with a 160-kilometer stage starting and finishing in Bellegarde. Despite an almost flat profile, it should be exciting again at the end of the section. Because the last meters to the finish line led uphill, so the sprinters could not be sure about their day's victory. Nonetheless cheer Mads pedersen (Trek – Segafredo) at the end of one of the fast men. The Dane was able to get ahead of the French Hugo Hofstetter (Arkèa – Samsic) and the Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen (TotalEnergies) enforce. With that, Mads Pedersen also leads the overall standings. However, tomorrow and the coming days the terrain will be more demanding. The tour ends on Sunday in Alès l'Ermitage.
