Bike case in test: Traveling with the B&W Bike Guard Curv

27 December 2021 by Florian Nowak

Test: Even if travel is currently difficult, the next cycling holiday or training camp is coming up sooner than you think. Of course, it is best to have your own bike with you, even if you are going south by plane. With the B&W Bike Guard Curv, we took a close look at one of the most popular bike transport cases.

Road bikes, mountain bikes and triathlon bikes up to 29 inches are perfectly stored in the B&W Bike Guard Curv. The case cover is made of the innovative Curv material, which also gives the case its name. The environmentally friendly, impact-resistant and weather-resistant material is also particularly light and saves up to 50% in weight compared to fiber composites. In addition, the B&W Bike Guard Curv comes with extensive equipment to protect all bicycle accessories optimally and to stow away all additional utensils safely. As already mentioned, in our opinion the perfect companion on every trip.

B&W Bike Guard Curv – Extensive accessories

The B&W Bike Guard Curv has an extremely extensive range of accessories. This consists of foam padding as frame protection, as spacers for the handlebars, dropouts and fork dropouts and foam tubes to protect sensitive parts. Wheel bags in size L for wheels up to 29 inches are also included. To ensure that other accessories are not left unsecured in the case, there is also a bag set in the bike case consisting of four bags that fit exactly into the recesses in the bicycle frame. In this way, the free space in the Bike Guard Curv is used cleverly and other equipment such as helmets, shoes or clothing can be safely stowed away.

For particularly easy packing of the bike, the cover shell of the Bike Guard Curv can be completely removed and placed under the base shell to save space. With a practical belt system, the bike and all bike parts can be firmly fixed. The robust belt buckle makes it easier to close the case shells and prevents them from bursting open. For added security, a webbing buckle features eyelets for an optional TSA padlock. Four stable smooth-running castors, two of which can be rotated 360° and two are fixed, allow the case to be easily maneuvered over any surface. The Bike Guard Curv can be easily transported on two wheels using the adjustable pull handles. The case also has two robust carrying handles for lifting over small obstacles.
