MTB News: An optimal grip on the pedal not only ensures a good riding experience, but is also crucial for efficiency and safety. Riders rely on extra grip when using a flat pedal, especially in blocked passages and fat jumps. The new Shimano Gravity GR9 shoe with ULTREAD rubber sole is aimed at all bikers who want to defy the physical limits in terms of riding technology, but who do not want to lose contact with the bike.
Shimano Gravity Shoe GR9: Equipped with the new ULTREAD rubber sole
The new Shimano GR9 made of reinforced synthetic leather with breathable mesh inserts is a special shoe for flat pedals. The target group are downhill and enduro riders who appreciate the unprecedented freedom of their platform pedals, but still need a high level of grip. This requires a sole that is characterized by both the rubber compound and the pattern. The new GR9 therefore uses the ULTREAD rubber sole, which, in combination with the hexagonal profile or the groove pattern, is intended to guarantee the rider an excellent grip on the pedal. Since the pattern corresponds to the pins and the shape of the in-house flat pedals, excellent grip should be guaranteed, especially in combination with these pedals. According to Shimano, this also increases the durability of the shoe. The sole also features a special traction pattern in the toe and heel to improve walking ability. The ankle and toe protection of the shoe in turn ensure increased safety. The new Shimano Gravity shoe GR9 is available in black and smoke white at a price of 149,95 euros.
