super prestige: Brand & Iserbyt are also unstoppable in Merksplas

20 November 2021 by Michael Behringer

Brand Iserbyt Cyclecross

Cycling: World champion Lucinda Brand also wins the Superprestige race in Merksplas, taking the overall lead. Eli Iserbyt triumphed in the men's. The Belgian now also leads the ranking.

Lucinda Brand remains sovereign

The world champion continues to dominate the cyclocross world. Lucinda Brand didn't give her competitors a chance at the Superprestige in Merkplas either. The Dutch woman left Anne Marie Worst and Denise Betsema behind by 19 and 21 seconds respectively. But not the time difference shows how sovereign and outstanding the world champion is at the moment. It's the way she gets her wins. Today she was successful by leaving everyone standing right from the start and crossing the finish line as a soloist. With this success, she also secures the lead in Superprestige, where it is now half-time after 4 of 8 runs.

Eli Iserbyt celebrates third win in a row

In the men's field it's currently difficult to beat Eli Iserbyt. The Belgian won here in Merksplas for the first time, but now for the third time in a row in the Superprestige. And that, although he had to digest a fall at the beginning. He left behind by two seconds Quinten Hermans, which he leaves behind by 3 points in the overall ranking.
