Cycling: There it is, the first World Cup medal for the BDR. In Bruges, Antonia Niedermaier wins bronze in the junior women's time trial. The new world champion is the Russian Alena Ivanchenko. As in the U23 class, a Dane triumphed in the juniors: Gustav Wang.
Niedermaier also gets a medal at the World Cup
The month of September counts for Antonia Niedermaier (Germany) without a doubt one of the most beautiful and successful of her young career. The German ski mountaineer won the bronze medal at the World Road Championships just a few days after winning the silver medal at the European Championships. Only Alena Ivanchenko (Russia) and Zoe Backstedt (Great Britain) were 19,3 and 10 seconds faster on the 25 km course from Knokke-Heist to Bruges. After third place, there is a relatively large gap in the junior women's competition, as fourth-placed was already almost one and a half minutes behind. After the European Championship jersey, the Russian winner also conquers the rainbow jersey.

Again a Dane wins in a World Cup time trial
At the World Championships in Flanders, the juniors who started after the juniors had a little more distance to cover. Won the 22,3-kilometer battle against the clock Gustave Wang (Denmark) before Joshua Tarling (Great Britain) and Alec Segaert (Belgium). The latter only triumphed at the European Championships a few days ago, but was unable to repeat this success at the World Championships in Flanders. Best Swiss was Jan Christen in rank 7. Luis Joe Lührs was 18th as the best German.
